Paul V. Babij, 70 of Belleville passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019. Born in Scranton, PA, the son of Andrew and Stephanie (Kania) Babij, he lived in Scranton prior to moving to Belleville 60 years ago.
He retired from Benjamin Moore Paints in Flanders and previously Newark as a chemical operator. He was a proud National Guard Veteran.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Michele (Cotugno) Babij; his children, Vincent Babij and Nicole Stevens and her husband, Brian; his grandchildren, Michael and Vincent Stevens; 3 sisters, Christine Alexander and her husband, Fred, Katherine Cholette and her husband, Gary and Bernadette Rollins and her husband, Hank; and 2 brothers, Thomas and his wife, Halina and Andrew and his wife, Laurie.
The funeral will be Monday, August 5, 2019 from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley at 9 a.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church in Belleville at 10 a.m.
The interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Covenant House (www.covenanthouse.org) would be appreciated.
