Obituary for Jack Balzano

Proud Navy Veteran and Army National Guard Lifer

Jack Balzano, 84 of Monroe Township, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Born in Hoboken, NJ, the son of John and Angelina (Gesmundo) Balzano, he lived in Nutley and South Westerlo, NY prior to moving to Monroe Township in June of 2013.
Prior to his retirement, Jack worked as a customer service representative with Con Edison in New York City.
Jack proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and later in the Army National Guard before retiring in1993.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #14658 of Monroe Township, the Greenville VFW 3175 of Port Jervis, NY and a former member of the Italian American Club of Albany, NY.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie J. (Monaco) Balzano, 3 children, Marisa Balzano-Fink, John Balzano and Rosemary Bartell; 6 grandchildren, Christian, Jennifer, Angela, Michelle, Daniel and Samantha and his great-grandchildren, Avery Grace and Dylan Joseph and his brother, Frank.

The funeral will be Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Nutley at 9:30 a.m.

The interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.

All are welcome to the repast at Ralph's Pizzeria, 564 Franklin Avenue in Nutley.
