Obituary for Carlotta Willard
Dedicated school teacher, loving sister and aunt
Carlotta Willard, 94 of Nutley, passed away on Wednesday June 19, 2019 at her home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Sylvia (Calcagni) Willard. Ms. Willard lived most of her life in Nutley. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Seton Hall University and began her teaching career as a primary school teacher with the Nutley and Newark school systems, finally retiring from the Randall Carter Elementary School in Wayne. She was also a member of the NJEA and served as a lector at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Nutley. Carlotta’s favorite past-time was babysitting for her beloved niece and great niece and nephew. She also enjoyed spending time by the water at a beach house which she kept in East Hampton, NY.
Predeceased by her parents and her sister, the late Inez W. Prevette, she is survived by her dear sister, Blanche Meagher, her beloved niece Carla Vigue and husband, Paul and their children, Christina and Paul, Jr.
The cremation was private.
A Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Nutley on Saturday June 29 at 10:00 am followed by committal at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
